A Melancholy Thirst

Ever felt like you want or needed something so badly you actually feel the ache and pain? Lately I have been feeling like that. Maybe its just how the human emotions work, your brain thinks of something and tells your heart "hey i want that!" Then you heart tells your brain "no you can't have that, its not right for you or its an expensive price to pay". Your brain then absorbs the information and it screams back at your heart "Die you bitch!" and stabs it... ahhh life is a big fat joke! If only we can be contented..

Mr E is away

Aye Mr E.. Miss K asks why is it you didn't reply to your messages.. She sent you a msg this morning.. telling you that you have been missed. I told her you probably didn't have enough battery. You better have a good excuse, auntie k is not happy!

So while Mr E was away. Missy J & K had a fun weekend! We had dinner at Parramatta, Temasek and found a bar/bistro that sort of resembles timbre, we went there for drinks after dinner in hope for a live band. All we go was 10 wooden tables about 15 people and a boring sound man playing music. The atmosphere was alright ambiance was OK, entertainment level sucked! Apparently the live band is on during happy hours from 5pm - 8pm. Looks like the search for a timbre looking place goes on! After dinner we went to have a drive round the city, and took a walk somewhere near the domain. Sat I brought my friends to Mamak to have very expensive roti pratas and some shopping, after which we headed home for dinner, which was made by chef J and all the guest were happily japanified! They had Pork Katsu Don, Miso Soup & Japanese curry. After Dinner the cute canberrean couple were tired, lights out was at 11pm for them. As the couple was going to bed, missy K & J left the house to meet Am & friends for pancakes. Yum.. nothing like a good old plain regular stack! Sunday was a little more relaxing, took the visitors for lunch at our fav taiwan joint but it was packed, so we had to do with the shanghai place nex door, which turns out, the cute couple liked it alo! Once lunch ended we had to say byebye as couple headed to catch their bus back to Canberra. Miss K & J then went to paddy's to get veggies and headed home. A fruitful relaxing weekend ahhhhh.

Next weekend would be about old people bar-ing and the week after would be about camping. :)

Your cold so toes!

That got me laughing really hard after i realized that i said " Your cold so toes" to uncle C.. When i really actually meant to say " your toes are so cold". And Just a few weeks ago I told Vivian while at work.. "lets eat popo cops" today!

So being curious george, I went hunting around the world wide web, the results I got were not very funny!

Some people called it "Spoonerism" and who gave spoonerism its name? - Mr William Archibald Spooner. But his spoonerisms were mostly intentional, which could be hidden messages and secret words. Want to read a list of them visit here, I didnt find them particularly funny though!

So what are the unintentional spoonerisms? Some people say it is a form of dyslexia, And not only children get it, adults can get it when they become older. Dyslexia is a disability in children and it is always misconcepted to be a visually-based reading disability when in reality, it is a language-based disorder. Browsed through the forums, and alot of adults have the mixing of letters problems, and it got worst and they become embarrassed of the way they speak.

Gulps, I better play more Mahjong my brain needs to exercise!

Singapore Local delights: Part One

Bah Chor Mee = Minces Meat Vinegar Noodles

Today's lunch was about an attempt to try and replicate one of Singapore's most favourite Street Hawker local dish! And I think i would give myself a pat on the shoulder for making it quite a sucess! I hope my guests were equally happy about the results as I was.

You see.. I invited 2 guinea pigs over to test out the first attempt of my Bah Chor Mee. The two lab rats went for a 7km run by the bay and I rewarded their hard work with a nice bowl of home cooked BCM.

Things to do in Sydney: Part 1

Ok so I am into my fourth month of my relocaton and although i haven't seen much of NSW, I must say I am currently on a very steady pace of discovering what's there to do in Sydney. So I am going to make a list, I love making lists. I think i will introduce the Sydney CBD or City to you first and then in my next post, i will share with you all the suburban juicy locations.

Sydney City
Central, Town Hall, Wynyard, Circular Quay, St James, Martin Place and Museum station is basically the city cirle, in which you can easily catch the city circle line to get around or you can walk. With so much to see 1 day won't really be enough to cover everything.

1) CENTRAL:
If you stop at central, you will be in close proximity to Chinatown, I must say this is the best Chinatown this country has, compared to Brisbane and Perth's pathetic Chinatowns that is only made up of 1 street. You can get almost everything you need to suit your Asia craving! Also in the heart of China town, you have Paddy's Market, first time visiors should give it a visit! Rows and Rows of souviniers, clothes, hardware and jewellery shops. Always the whole round before you get carried away with your spending, you might just save a buck or two at the shops all the way inside.

2) TOWNHALL:
At Townhall, you have your cinemas, shopping centres - like the famous QVB and cafes. At St James you could visit hyde park, where alot of street events are held, also just or a quiet afternoon picnic in the sun.

3) ST JAMES:
A short walk from St James, you could visit Sydney's wilder side of the city: Kingscross - With all the bars, clubs and nightclubs all lined up to spice up your nightlife.

4) CIRCULAR QUAY
At circular quay, this is the main ferry terminal where you would go take the ferries to Manley, Watsons Bay, Double Bay, Parramatta etc. Also a short walk from Circular quay and you would end up at The Rocks.

more updates in the next post... look out for part 2

Technology In Modern Times

Technology is at its peak now! Have you heard of E-Cigarette? Apparantly it is a new techonology that gives you every sensation you get from a cigarette minus the ash and tar and harmful substances that causes cancer. Visit here to read more about it.

You can even smoke your e-cigarette in enclosed areas like shopping malls, bars, clubs, where ever you please. This is amazing.

Very good product for the people trying to quit.

Mardi Gras is Round the Corner!

Mardi Gras - the one day where the world comes to a stand still and celebrate the differences of mankind. The one day where we celebrate the equality of being gay, lesbian or straight! Where queers, dykes and lesbians march around in bright colored neon sequined frocks and mini salor boy suits with head pieces so big its no joke!

This is the one event I have been dying to join, since moons ago! I never had an opportunity! Looking through the pictures and photos of 2009 really stirs up your curiousity! And now I can't wait! Also i bet i'd be able to capture great photos, where the array of colors blend together as one bright picture. I wish "My Family" could all be here to see this amazing amazing March of Pride! I bet we would have a blast of a time waving our pride flags and screaming on the top of our lungs! I miss you guys so much and looking at the mini Mardi Gras party you had for xmas, i knew i missed out on heaps of fun!

If you are in Sydney around the 21st of Feb - 6th of March Do join in the celebration! I am sure you will have a blast! Behind most dress up party, there will be a theme, 2010's Mardi Gras is no different. You can download the theme guide here or for more information on the event and to view the calendar you can visit Mardi Gras Syd Official Site, with all these information, it will give you an idea of what is expected during the parade. Here is a video of 2009 Mardi Gras, it only gets better every year!

Warning! This celebration is not for the faint hearted homophobes,so stay out!

Growing up so fast!

was just reading my baby niece's blog, my oh my! This little thing is growing super fast! The last time i held her was when she was about 7 months. Now at slightly over 15 months, she is already learning words and doing animal sounds! And coming up with games like blindfold catching - what did we use to call it?! Love every second of reading my sisters updates on what she does with her little angel. It never fails to make my day. Here is a couple of videos of Caitlin, my little angel! :) enjoy!

Come'on Loosen up a little!

Read a recent news article about how Singpost had a marketing campaign which involved "vandalising" the singpost mail boxes. Read it here. What waste of resources, its not singpost's fault that Singaporeans are nosey and full of complaints, we notify the police for every single damn thing!

Singpost owns these mail boxes don't they, they can do what ever they want to it, can't they? And who's to say that a marketing campaign has to necessary bring in a message that makes sense. In fact i think we are lacking of such out of the box marketing campaigns, where has all our fun gone too. We are all suffering from this stringent and squared mindset. Whats wrong wiith injecting some colours! In fact its a briliant idea! instead of thoes white boring mail boxes, we have something to see everymorning while walking to the trains or bus stops. we could even have art competitions and the best graffiti design wins something! O would love to join and be one of the 40 contestants! This not only gains awareness for Singpost's sponsorship it aslo encourages art and the kids have fun.. Its the YOG its all for the kids.. this is not a campaign to win an election. well even if it was i don't see a problem with having a "fun" political campaigne.. There is a time to be serious and there is a time to be fun fun fun!

Now that we are on the topic of graffiti, there are alot of graffiti here in Sydney. I must say some of these kids are damn good! I think i will start taking pictures of these cool art!

Adios For Now!

Happy 2010

Hi Everyone! thank you all for your new year wishes and greetings! I had a lovely time with close friends! We made a decision and went to the office to escape the 1.5 million people out and about Sydney streets! The office view at night es magnífico!!! but it was not great for taking pictures especially for amatures like me, the office was too bright and there was too much reflection from the glass windows! Anyway it was a much relaxing NYE countdown as compared to the other years of squeezing with sweaty Singaporeans while walking from City Hall to clarke quay and then trying to get in to Attica and dragging your swollen feet from Clarke Quay back to city hall just to collect your car!

The fireworks display was great! Enjoy the pictures!

I hope you guys have thought of your new year resolution! I sure did, I usually ask for alot from myself! But this year i want to keep it simple, something i can achieve easily, all i want is to be happy! That is my resolution for 2010. Till the next post!
